LIFESICK is a Danish heavy hardcore band from Fredericia, formed in 2015, whose music merges the aggression and directness of hardcore with the sonic weight of Swedish death metal. Their catalog — including 6.0.1 (2016, Southern Lord), Swept in Black (2018), Misanthropy (2022), and Loved by None, Hated by All — addresses mental health, addiction, and depression with unflinching honesty. The band signed to Metal Blade Records and has toured internationally alongside established extreme metal acts.

Mass Worship formed in Stockholm, Sweden in January 2018, combining Swedish death metal's characteristic HM-2-inflected ferocity with post-punk atmosphere and progressive structural ambitions. The band released their self-titled debut on Century Media Records, followed by Spiritual Destitution, the latter recorded at the legendary Sunlight Studio with producer Tomas Skogsberg, the engineer responsible for defining the classic Stockholm death metal sound. Their willingness to bring bleaker, more introspective elements into a death metal context connects them to contemporaries like Grave and Dismember while marking their own distinct direction.

THIS GIFT IS A CURSE formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 2008, founded by vocalist Jonas A. Holmberg and drummer Johan Nordlund, with their debut EP recorded at the legendary Sunlight Studios with producer Tomas Skogsberg in 2010. The band works in a cataclysmic fusion of black metal, sludge, and hardcore, constructing songs that balance ferocity with a suffocating, doom-laden atmosphere. Full-lengths I, Guilt Bearer (2012), All Hail the Swinelord (2015), A Throne of Ash (2019), and Heir (2025, released on Season of Mist) have steadily built their standing in the European extreme underground.

Toxpack formed in Berlin, Germany in 2001 under frontman Daniel "Schulle" Schulz, who coined the term "Streetcore" to describe the band's fusion of punk, hardcore, and heavy metal drawn from street-level working-class culture. The band's prolific output on Napalm Records spans nine albums from their debut Stadtgeflüster (2001) through Kämpfer (2019) and the 20th anniversary compilation Zwanzig.Tausend Volt (2022). NPR cited them as setting the standard for the Streetcore style, and their consistency over two decades has made them a defining act within the German punk-metal underground.

Vera Cruz was formed in Paris in 2009, blending melodic hardcore and metalcore with a raw rock 'n' roll edge. The band released their debut EP Surviving Farrah Fawcett in 2010 and followed it with their full-length Skinandteethandnails, which captured the volatile intensity that made them a fixture on the European hardcore circuit alongside acts such as Terror, Every Time I Die, and Cancer Bats. The band disbanded in 2015 after several years of relentless touring across Europe.
