Wakefield's Steve Blower operates as a solo heavy metal project, channeling classic British steel through a singular vision since 2018. The project showcases versatile musicianship anchored in traditional metal craft.
Steve Jones is a London guitarist, singer, songwriter, and radio personality best known as the guitarist whose blunt, thick rhythm sound helped make the Sex Pistols the central band of UK punk. After early activity with Paul Cook in pre-Pistols groups, Jones moved into guitar as the Sex Pistols took shape in 1975, bringing a direct, powerful style that owed as much to glam and hard rock as to punk's emerging minimalism. His playing on Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols is deceptively simple: huge chords, tight overdubs, aggressive downstrokes, and a tone that gave the record its muscular force. After the Pistols' collapse, Jones continued through the Professionals, solo albums, session work, and collaborations with artists across punk, hard rock, and classic rock. He fits accepted scope through punk rock and hard rock. Jones's importance is that he made punk guitar sound massive without making it ornate. The attitude was reckless, but the recorded parts were solid, memorable, and perfectly arranged for impact. His work helped define the idea that punk could be crude in spirit while still sonically powerful, a lesson countless guitar bands absorbed afterward.
Steve Moreton is a solo power metal endeavor from Preston, launched in 2020. The project channels soaring melodies and epic arrangements through one musician's dedicated vision of the genre.
Londonderry's Stevie McLaughlin crafts heavy metal as a solo artist, drawing on Northern Ireland's long history with the genre since 2018. The project showcases strong songwriting rooted in classic metal traditions.
Roermond's Stewie Brick deal in sludge metal from the Limburg retail capital since 2019. Their irreverent name and southern Dutch origins bring offbeat humor to compositions of genuine, ear-crushing heaviness.
Stockholm's STHLMs Blodbad deliver doom metal from the Swedish capital since 2021. Named for the Stockholm Bloodbath of 1520, when Danish King Christian II executed Swedish nobility, their historical reference channels one of Scandinavian history's most infamous massacres into compositions of crushing heaviness.
Stier ("Bull") charge through thrash and heavy metal from Dortmund, delivering the raw, horn-lowered power their name demands. Formed in 2021, they bring bovine fury to the Ruhr Valley thrash scene.
Sesto Fiorentino's Stige channel black metal named for the River Styx from the Florence suburbs since 2017. Their mythological name connects to Italian literary tradition through Dante's own infernal geography.
Stigmatized deal in death metal from the Black Forest town of Zell, channeling extreme aggression from the picturesque Baden wine country. Active since 2016, they bring marked intensity to the southwestern German underground.
