Dream Evil is a Swedish heavy metal band assembled in Gothenburg in 1999 by producer Fredrik Nordström, taking their name from the 1987 Ronnie James Dio album. The lineup took shape after Nordström connected with guitarist Gus G (Firewind) in Greece, and the band released their debut Dragonslayer in 2002, briefly reaching number one on Japanese import charts. Across seven albums spanning Dragonslayer (2002) through Metal Gods (2024), the band has remained committed to anthemic traditional heavy metal.
