Takida formed in Ånge, Sweden in 1999 and developed into one of the country's most commercially successful rock acts, scoring three consecutive platinum-selling, chart-topping Swedish albums with Bury the Lies (2007), The Darker Instinct (2009), and The Burning Heart (2011). Named after a mispronounced character from the Japanese anime Silver Fang, the band signed with Ninetone Records in 2005 and has released over a dozen albums, including the Swedish-language Sju (2019) and The Agony Flame (2024), which reached number 8 on the German charts.
Founded in Wiesbaden, Germany in 2007 by vocalist Timmy Rough and drummer Urban Berz, The New Roses channel the hard rock tradition of the late 1980s with clear debts to AC/DC, Guns N' Roses, and Aerosmith. After adopting the name officially in 2012, the band signed to Napalm Records and achieved mainstream chart presence in Germany, with Nothing But Wild (2019) reaching number 10 and Sweet Poison (2022) reaching number 13 on the German album charts. A track from their early career was included on the German soundtrack for the TV series Sons of Anarchy. Their sixth album, Attracted to Danger, was released in 2024.
The Night Flight Orchestra was formed in 2007 in Helsingborg, Sweden by Björn Strid and David Andersson while on tour with their main band Soilwork, with bassist Sharlee D'Angelo of Arch Enemy also among the founding members. The band's aesthetic is a deliberate recreation of 1970s and 1980s AOR and classic rock, complete with lush vocal harmonies, melodic hooks, and analog production sensibilities. Seven studio albums followed from Internal Affairs (2012) through Amber Galactic (2017), Aeromantic (2020), and Give Us the Moon (2025), each reinforcing their commitment to the genre's golden-era sound. The project has become one of the most consistent and acclaimed AOR revivals in contemporary rock.
The Vintage Caravan formed in the municipality of Álftanes, Iceland in 2006, founded as teenagers by guitarist Óskar Logi Ágústsson and drummer Guðjón Reynisson, though the band did not function as a working unit until around 2009. Their sound synthesizes the psychedelic haze of Deep Purple with the crushing weight of stoner metal, delivered with a classic rock spontaneity. Six studio albums followed from their self-titled debut (2011) through Voyage (2014), Arrival (2015), Gateways (2018), Monuments (2021) — which reached number 21 on the German charts — and Portals (2025) on Napalm Records. Their longevity and consistency have made them one of the most productive acts in Icelandic rock.
Vulvarine is a five-piece hard rock band from Vienna, Austria, formed in 2019, known for their high-energy rock 'n' roll attack that blends elements of classic heavy metal and punk. Their debut full-length Unleashed (2020) launched them onto the European live circuit, where they have played extensively across Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. Their second album Fast Lane (2025), released on Napalm Records, arrived alongside recognition from the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards, the country's most prestigious music prize.
White Void is a Norwegian hard rock project launched in 2020, led by Lars Nedland — keyboardist and vocalist of Borknagar and Solefald — with a lineup that includes Ihsahn drummer Tobias Solbakk. The band's debut Anti (2021) synthesized 1970s stoner rock, 1980s new wave, and hard rock into a streamlined, riff-forward sound that sidestepped the progressive ambitions of Nedland's other projects. Released through Nuclear Blast, the record drew comparisons to vintage occult rock while remaining rooted in direct, groove-driven songwriting.
Zoax was a London metalcore act formed in 2013, drawing members from established UK heavy bands including Rise To Remain and AxeWound. The band released their debut EP XIII in early 2014 through Century Media Records and went on to share stages with Cancer Bats, Gallows, and appear at multiple Download Festival editions. Their self-titled debut full-length followed in 2016, consolidating a muscular, riff-driven approach to metalcore with hard rock hooks. The band dissolved in December 2017.
