Unantastbar formed in 2004 in South Tyrol, Italy — an autonomous province where German is widely spoken — and built their following playing German-language punk rock rooted in the Oi! tradition and Deutschrock. Their debut Niemals wie Ihr! (2006) established the anthemic, working-class style they would refine across a decade of releases; their 2018 album Leben Lieben Leiden reached number two on the German album charts. Signed to Napalm Records, the band has remained one of the most commercially successful punk acts in the German-speaking market.
