Hans Platz is a German guitarist and composer trained at Berklee College of Music whose 2013 solo debut Timestamps, released on Piazza Recordings/Cargo Records, showcased his fusion of progressive metal, hard rock, and jazz-influenced virtuosity. The album featured contributions from drummers Marco Minnemann and Wolfgang Haffner as well as guest guitarist Mattias IA Eklundh of Freak Kitchen. Beyond his solo work, Platz has contributed to Feuerschwanz and co-founded The Dark Side of the Moon in 2021 with Ad Infinitum vocalist Melissa Bonny and Amaranthe drummer Morten Løwe Sørensen.
