The debut album Burden of Grief (2009) featured guest harsh vocals from Rogga Johansson, and their second album Lacrima Mortis (2012) featured an expanded full-band lineup including former Gorefest guitarist Frank Harthoorn. The project is currently inactive, but its two albums stand as accomplished entries in the melodic death-doom tradition.

The Abbey is a Finnish doom metal quintet formed in 2021 around vocalist Jesse Heikkinen (Iterum Nata) and co-vocalist Natalie Koskinen of funeral doom act Shape of Despair, with the lineup completed by drummer Vesa Ranta (ex-Sentenced) and guitarist Janne Markus (The Man-Eating Tree). Their debut album Word of Sin (2023) on Season of Mist weaves ritualistic themes drawn from esoteric belief systems into a sound blending progressive doom, gothic metal, and dark rock. The combination of Heikkinen's and Koskinen's contrasting vocal approaches is central to the band's distinct identity.
