Tiamat formed near Stockholm, Sweden in 1987 under the original name Treblinka, playing raw black/death metal before renaming after the Babylonian deity and releasing their debut Sumerian Cry in 1990. Under the direction of guitarist and vocalist Johan Edlund, the band underwent a series of dramatic stylistic transformations: Clouds (1992) introduced gothic influences into their death-doom foundation, and Wildhoney (1994) is widely regarded as a landmark of progressive and atmospheric doom metal that earned the band festival slots at Dynamo and Wacken. Later albums including A Deeper Kind of Slumber (1997) and Judas Christ (2002) moved toward gothic rock and alternative sounds. Tiamat are recognized as pioneers of both gothic metal and atmospheric death metal.
Tiat5 is a groove/death metal band from Florence, formed in 2023. Their cryptic name adds mystery to the heavy grooves and death metal aggression they deliver from the cradle of the Renaissance.
Swiss death metal veterans Tiburón have been active since 1994, building a substantial discography that includes conceptual albums like "4'496'500'000 Mission Neptune" and "5'906'376'000 Mission Pluto," exploring cosmic and sci-fi themes through crushing brutality. Their catalog spans over a dozen releases from their base in Zofingen, blending technical precision with interplanetary concept work.
Tides of Sulfur from Cardiff deliver sludge and death metal with the volcanic, brimstone-tide intensity their chemical name demands since 2013. Over a decade of sulfurous compositions from the Welsh capital has produced some of South Wales's most corrosive extreme metal.
Tides of Virtue from Essex blend melodic death metal with metalcore since 2008. Over fifteen years of morally charged compositions from the London fringe has produced a substantial catalog of melodically sophisticated aggression.
Tiefschlag from Hamburg deliver death metal and deathcore with the devastating impact their German name — meaning 'low blow' or 'sucker punch' — implies since 2024. Their sound strikes with the unexpected brutality of a forbidden move.
Tiffany for Breakfast is a deathcore band from Erfurt, Germany, formed in 2015. They deliver punishing deathcore with an ironic juxtaposition of their name against crushing breakdowns.
Tiger Battalion is a death metal band from the Bergstraße area of Germany, formed in 2023. They play aggressive, militaristic death metal from the Hessian wine region.
