Xandria
Founded in Bielefeld, Germany in 1994 by guitarist Marco Heubaum, Xandria reconstituted in 1999 and became one of the more consistent European symphonic metal acts over the following two decades. Their 2003 debut Kill the Sun charted in Germany, and albums including Ravenheart (2004), India (2005), and the later Neverworld's End (2012) built a loyal following in the Nightwish-influenced feminine-fronted symphonic metal tradition. The band has cycled through several vocalists — including Dianne van Giersbergen, who recorded Sacrificium and Theater of Dimensions — with Ambre Vourvahis fronting the 2023 album The Wonders Still Awaiting.
