Tortuga
Tortuga formed in Poznań, Poland in 2016, quickly establishing themselves in the psychedelic stoner and doom metal underground with a Lovecraft-inspired debut album Deities (2020) that followed an earlier self-titled EP. The band signed a worldwide deal with Napalm Records in 2021, and their album Iterations followed in 2023, furthering their dense, riff-heavy approach infused with psychedelic atmosphere. Their sound draws on classic stoner doom traditions while incorporating the kind of occult-adjacent thematic content common to the contemporary European heavy underground.
