Sons of Balaur is a black metal act originating from the United Kingdom in 2015 as a fictional band from within the 'Realm of the Damned' graphic novel universe, before being brought to life as a performing group. Signed to Season of Mist, the band released their debut album Tenebris Deos in October 2016, presenting raw, orthodox black metal with a backstory constructed around the mythology of the graphic novel series. The project blurs the line between art concept and genuine band with deliberate intent, and the music itself — guitar-driven and tradition-minded — requires no narrative scaffolding to stand on its own terms.
