Silent Skies is a Swedish atmospheric project formed in 2018 as a collaboration between Tom S. Englund, vocalist of progressive metal band Evergrey, and American pianist Vikram Shankar. The duo's music centers on piano-driven melancholy, cinematic orchestration, and Englund's expressive vocals rather than guitar-heavy metal convention. Their debut Satellites (2020) was followed by Nectar (2022) and Dormant (2024) on Napalm Records, each album deepening the project's introspective, emotionally sparse aesthetic. Silent Skies occupies a space at the intersection of dark ambient, neoclassical, and contemporary gothic metal.
