Siegfried
Formed in Innsbruck, Austria in 1998, Siegfried built their sound around the Nibelung saga, crafting blackened symphonic power metal with lyrics drawn directly from Germanic heroic legend. Their debut album Drachenherz arrived in 2001 on Napalm Records, followed by Eisenwinter in 2003. The band's third full-length, Nibelung (2009), was widely regarded as their strongest work, refining the orchestral and narrative ambitions that define the project. Songwriter Ortwin composes all of the music while lyricist Bruder Cle translates the mythological source material into metal form.
