A veteran Catalan death metal act since 1994, Banyoles's Pulmons Negres — 'Black Lungs' in Catalan — has been breathing decay into the northeastern Spanish underground for three decades. Their use of the Catalan language roots them firmly in the region's fiercely independent cultural identity.
