Nargaroth is one of Germany's most polarizing black metal acts, founded in 1996 as a solo project by Ash (Kanwulf) in Saxony after the death of a member of his former band Exhuminenz. The project's catalog from 'Herbstleyd' through 'Era of Threnody' has made it a defining, if controversial, force in German black metal.
