Monument of Misanthropy are a technical brutal death metal band from Vienna, Austria, founded in 2010 by scene veteran George 'Misanthrope' Wilfinger and currently signed to Transcending Obscurity Records. The band has built a reputation for concept albums rooted in true-crime subject matter: 'Unterweger' explores the crimes of Austrian serial killer Jack Unterweger, while 'Vile Postmortem Irrumatio' (2024) centers on Ed Kemper. Their approach combines extreme brutality with meticulous technical construction.
