Mitigate are a melodic death metal band from Vienna, Austria, formed in January 2006 by Rene Szopinski (vocals, guitar) and Markus Foitik (vocals, bass). The band blends melodic death metal with symphonic and thrash elements, as heard on their debut 'Welcome to Our World' (2007) and the follow-up 'A New Day' (2011). They have operated independently throughout their career, releasing material through their own channels.
