Marko Hietala
Marko Hietala is a Finnish heavy metal musician who served as bassist and male vocalist for Nightwish from 2001 through his departure in January 2021, appearing on the band's most commercially successful era including Dark Passion Play (2007) and Endless Forms Most Beautiful (2015). He has simultaneously led the Finnish heavy metal band Tarot since the 1980s as vocalist and bassist. His solo career began with the Finnish-language Mustan Sydämen Rovio (2019) and its English counterpart Pyre of the Black Heart (2020), with a second solo album Roses from the Deep announced for February 2025.
