Machine Men formed in Suolahti, Finland in 1998, originating as an Iron Maiden cover band before developing their own melodic heavy metal identity. The band released three full-length albums—Scars & Wounds (2003), Elegies (2005), and Circus of Fools (2007)—with the single 'Falling' from Elegies charting at number five on the Finnish charts. The band dissolved in February 2011 following declining interest among members, leaving behind a compact catalog that demonstrated Finland's capacity for traditional NWOBHM-influenced heavy metal beyond its better-known power metal exports.
