Lonewolf was formed in France in 1992 by vocalist and guitarist Jens Börner, dissolving in 1996 before reforming in 2000 with a renewed focus on speed and heavy metal in the tradition of Running Wild and Grave Digger. The band has since released a prolific string of albums on Massacre Records, among them The Dark Crusade (2009), Cult of Steel (2014), and Division Hades (2020). With over a dozen studio records spanning three decades, they stand as one of the most consistent practitioners of European speed metal to emerge from France.
