Gaerea is a masked Portuguese black metal band from Porto, evolving from raw black metal roots into atmospheric post-black metal territory, signed to Season of Mist. Their fourth album Coma (2024) challenges the archetype of black metal by coloring outside the genre's lines with melancholy texture, deep emotion, and devastating heaviness.
