Farsot is a five-piece avant-garde black metal band from Gotha, Thuringia, Germany, associated with Prophecy Productions. Starting from depressive black metal roots, they developed a distinctive sound that critics have called a classic of avant-garde black metal, with albums including "IIII," "Insects" (2011), "Toteninsel," and "FAIL·LURE."
