Fangorn is a folk/black metal band from Hallwang, Salzburg, formed in 1998, now active under the name Rivendell. Drawing directly on J.R.R. Tolkien's mythology, their original 1998 demo "Poems of Mountains and Forests" — remastered and reissued as "Fangorn: Poems of Mountains and Forests" in 2024 — blends raw black metal with epic folk arrangements and fantasy-themed lyrics.
