Deuil
From Liège and active between 2012 and 2016, Deuil were a four-piece sludge, drone, doom, and black metal band whose name is the French word for mourning — a title chosen to capture the emotional weight of grief and loss. Released on Consouling Sounds, their 2015 EP Shock/Deny followed the 2013 record Acceptance/Rebuild, and both releases blended blackened extremity with crushing sludge density.
