Atanatos is a black and thrash metal band from Jena, Germany, active since 1997, whose sound evolved from pure black metal into a more thrash-influenced direction over nearly three decades of activity. As one of Thuringia's longest-running extreme metal acts, the band has witnessed the genre's evolution firsthand from the late nineties onward.
